GLA staffer gives talk at Build Boston Residential Design Conference
GLA landscape designer Amanda Sloan was a presenter at the Residential Design conference sponsored by the Boston Architectural Society at Seaport World Trade Center, Boston on Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Amanda developed and presented the talk with a colleague from her hometown, architect Nancy Allison of Newbridge Architecture in Sharon, MA. Titled “Design Touchstones for Your Home and Garden,” the slide presentation explored the similar elements of home design and garden design, showing how these concepts can work together to create delightful and successful homes and gardens. The Residential Design Conference is held yearly in the spring and is an outgrowth of the BSA’s fall Build Boston Conference. The week-long conferences attract hundreds of participants from around New England. They are an opportunity for architects and other designers, contractors, vendors, design-related non-profit groups, and the public to gather for workshops, symposia, and sharing of information about topics such as green building, new products, and the latest civic design guidelines.
