Invasive Plant Management Certification Program
January 25th, 2008 Amanda Sloan attends Invasive Plant Management Certification Program sponsored by the University of Rhode Island CELS Outreach Center and the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council on January 23rd and 24th, the goal of this new training program is to encourage best landscape design practices within coastal buffer areas. A parallel goal is to enlist landscape professionals in the recognition and control of invasive plants in coastal buffers. The two day program is taught by national experts and results in a certification that is a new state requirement for landscape work within buffers. As a result of participation in this program, Gates, Leighton & Associates enhances our clients’ options for site-specific landscape development within the ecologically sensitive coastal area.
