Arthur J. Eddy- Vice President of Administration: ASLA, LEED AP 
 

Experience:

Mr. Arthur J. Eddy is Vice President of Administration for Gates, Leighton & Associates, Inc. with a strong background in both landscape design and business management. Mr. Eddy has both the pragmatism and vision needed for overseeing and guiding the designing and drafting teams in the efficient and creative execution of GLA’s numerous projects.

Arthur Eddy’s position with GLA allows him to apply his multi-disciplined background on a daily basis. He has acted as project manager on a range of private commercial projects, notably Lincoln Park in Lincoln, Rhode Island, Bellevue Gardens, Newport, Rhode Island and Patriot’s Park at the nation’s oldest synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island. Mr. Eddy has also been actively involved in several large-scale public projects for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation such as Route 403, the Route 146/116 Interchange and the North-Bound Route 295 Rest Area projects.

Drawing upon his experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car Corporation, Arthur has streamlined his passion for landscape architecture with his innate managerial skills as Gates, Leighton and Associates’s Vice President of Administration to manage client relations, financial, administrative and human resources.

Background:

Prior to embarking on a design career, Arthur Eddy administered numerous Enterprise Rent-A-Car branches located throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. During his tenure at Enterprise, he received numerous awards for exceptional bench marks in customer service, employee development and profitability.

Arthur began his design career at William D. Warner, Architects & Planners, Ltd. where he worked extensively on the Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s I-195 Relocation Project, taking part in planning and development meetings with the RIDOT, coordinating with team members and consultants, and producing details and site drawings for this large-scale, multi-phase project.

Qualifications:

Arthur Eddy obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from University of Rhode Island in 2003. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Affairs, obtained from URI in 1995. He received The American Society of Landscape Architects Certificate of Honor for Excellence in the Study of Landscape Architecture and was inducted into Sigma Lambda Alpha, the national honor society for Landscape Architecture.

Arthur is a Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Rhode Island. He is also a LEED certified professional with the Green Building Council and Low Impact Design certified with the Coastal Resource Management Council.

He has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Rhode Island instructing Landscape Architecture students in the use of specialized drafting programs.
