Mr. Arek W. Galle is a Senior Landscape Architect for Gates, Leighton & Associates, Inc. Mr. Galle is also instrumental in the management of GLA’s Boothbay, Maine office.
Mr. Galle is skilled in perceiving the specific context of a project and responding with creative design solutions that reflect an understanding of larger project themes while not losing sight of unifying details and nuance. Mr. Galle has proven success in translating a client’s need into attainable planning solutions that are functionally complete, aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible .
Arek Galle has had particular success in solving project challenges through stakeholder consensus building and public participation. Mr. Galle’s work also reveals his ability to unify hardscape and landscape elements to benefit and enhance the pedestrian experience and create a strong sens of place. His ability to alchemize various project components into a cohesive and sound vision has resulted in the realization of many projects.

Mr. Galle worked for thirteen years as the primary Landscape Architect at William D. Warner, Architects & Planners, Ltd. Mr. Galle worked on many large-scale public waterfront projects including the River Relocation project, Waterplace Park, the Point Street Landing and Collier Point Park in Providence, Rhode Island. Other highlights of Arek Galle’s career include long- term planning and design projects which spanned several years such as the development of the Newport Harborfront Master Plan and the I-195 Relocation project prepared for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation.
Qualifications:
Arek Galle graduated from University of Rhode island in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
Mr. Galle has been an Design Studio instructor at the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Galle also is an instructor for the Rhode Island chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Landscape Architecture Registration Examination (LARE) Review class.
Memberships:
Mr. Galle is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and served as the president of the Rhode Island chapter of the ASLA from 1999 to 2001. He is also a member of the American Planning Association (APA). He served as Chairman of the Town of Jamestown Building and Facilities Committee from 1998 to 2005 and is an active member of the Board of Directors for the Conanicut Island Landtrust.
