About GLA

The Landscape Architects of GLA are experienced planners, designers, artists, and site development experts seeking to make every GLA landscape project beautiful, sustainable, functional, and affordable. Our projects encompass environmental protection, urban planning, site design, recreational facilities, planning, and distinctive residential design. GLA’s completed landscape projects include schools, mixed-use communities, parks, resorts, highways, bridges, streetscapes, and town centers.

GLA serves residential, commercial, institutional, and public agency clients from its home office in East Providence Rhode Island, its northern New England office in Boothbay, Maine, and its international office in Cairo, Egypt. For twenty three years GLA has earned clients’ loyalty by delivering creativity on time and on budget.

GLA is thirty diverse professionals working in a progressive environment. Some GLA employees have been with the firm since its beginning. The company provides good jobs with solid career paths to landscape architectural graduates of Rhode Island School of Design, The University of Rhode Island, Morgan State University and many other accredited colleges and universities. All employees are encouraged to contribute to their communities by serving on planning and zoning boards, school committees, and voluntary “community design projects”.

Our goal at Gates, Leighton & Associates, Inc. is to deliver each project with dedicated, personal, responsible service throughout the life of their projects and afterward through continuing follow-up.
