GLA Renews Support for WTS-Rhode Island

East Providence, RI

A trainee from Groundwork Providence showed his niece how to loosen the plant roots before planting at the Manton Heights Rain Garden installation in spring, 2011.Many people overlook or don’t realize the important roles professional women play in the widely diverse world of transportation. Women contribute to our nation’s and the world’s transportation infrastructure at every level from master planning to public outreach to design to construction management.

Through the international organization of Women in Transportation, professionals expand their technical knowledge, professional development, and valuable interpersonal relationships. Landscape architects and the professional women involved in transportation share a primary goal: production of the finest, most environmentally friendly, most socially responsible transportation network possible.

Accordingly, GLA has renewed its support for WTS-Rhode Island, appointed Senior Landscape Architect Kelly Carr to represent the firm at WTS events, and will continue to work with the several New England Transportation agencies, municipalities, and private engineering consultants to provide the very highest level of landscape architectural planning, design and implementation.
